A space to enjoy both aesthetically and practically

The design of this contemporary space was very important to the owners of a modern converted stable in rural Somerset. Combining stainless steel modern appliances with an abundance of quartz work surfaces make this kitchen a space to enjoy both aesthetically and practically. The large island offers a wow factor as well as the central hub for social gatherings. The dark matt black paint creates an industrial feel against the concrete floor and the design of the island legs helps the piece of furniture feel more freestanding and a nod to kitchens of old.

The Bertazzoni stainless-steel range oven offers flexibility and energy efficient cooking, whilst the Liebherr fridge freezer offers plenty of storage for the client and their teenage children. The storage in this kitchen design also focuses on the contemporary style, with a lack of wall cabinets, which is becoming a popular design choice in our portfolio. The large deep- drawers offer ideal storage and easy access for crockery, pots, pans and baking trays. The hidden internal drawers on clever magnetic catches hide away utensils and cutlery without compromising the design. This kitchen also features a hidden recycling system, Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawers, storage drawer for oak spice jars and a tea towel holder matching the Jolie dark brass handles.

Our favourite highlight of this kitchen

Our favourite highlight of this kitchen, apart from the palette of natural materials must be the hidden bar area with pocket doors. The alcove was constructed to house cabinets specifically designed to hide a wine fridge, a food pantry, and the family’s collection of crockery. All finished in the soft paint tones to compliment the wall colour help emphasise the understated elegance.
