Time to make the switch?
editI was chatting to a local farmer over the Christmas holidays and he tells me that he has already planted the seed for his summer crop of Rapeseed. The yellow fields of rapeseed score high as one of my favourite sights of our summer countryside.
Rapeseed is from the Brassica family, as the health enhancing vegetables broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower.
Along with linseed, these are the only oils grown and bottled in the UK. The oil is celebrated for its health benefits as it has less unhealthy saturated fat than all other cooking oils and fats.
It is also high in omega 3, 6 and 9, so can help you maintain healthy cholesterol levels and it is a rich source of vitamin E.
So time to make the switch?…. to a local super oil?
