New Paint Finishes

21 January

PU 4Here at EK we have been having fun experimenting with some new paint finishes.

Rob who has recently joined our growing team brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in different paint finishes and techniques.

We start with the manufacture of a kitchen or item of furniture in a quality timber such as popular or pine, as used in this kitchen. A dark wood stain is then applied, followed by different layers of paint, which are all applied by hand.

Various techniques are then carried to achieve the desired effect and because these processes are all carried out by hand each kitchen will have its own individual and unique look.  PU 3 - drawer

Timber work tops, manufactured in oak have also been through a similar process. This ensures the overall beauty of the finished product and also creates a hard wearing and superior finish which will only improve with time.

Using the dark wood stain in the first step of the paint finish creates another attractive feature of the kitchen, as it can still be seen in certain areas, such as the interior of the cupboards and the drawer carcasses.

To enhance the character of this kitchen we have used a traditional Belfast sink and tap. But the possibilities are endless, an inset stainless steel sink could be used for a more contemporary look, along with different door mouldings.

This unit was finished in Farrow & Ball ‘Archive’, however we have available to us a huge choice of colours and we can also colour match.

This kitchen is currently on display in our new showroom, so why not pop in for a cuppa and take a look!
